Two Die, Others Injured In PDP, LP Clash 
Reports emanating from Ebonyi state reveal that, two people have been confirmed dead following a clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) in Amagu Ikwo community, Ikwo Local Government Area.

Punch reports that the clash also left several others injured in Amagu Ikwo, which is the home town of Governor Martin Elechi.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Chris Anyanwu, confirmed the killing of one of the deceased.
Anyanwu said the Ebonyi State Police Command has however, deployed police officers in the troubled area to ensure that peace was restored in the community.
He added that investigations had commenced into the matter to ascertain the remote and immediate causes of the political clash.
Ebonyi State PPRO expressed regret over the continued disturbances in the state by political thugs
In his words, “The command will not relent in its effort in ensuring that the forthcoming April 11 governorship and state House of Assembly elections in the state are free from violence.”
An eyewitness account reveals the names of the victims as Christopher Nworie and Christopher Alobu.
While Nworie hailed from Okwerike village in Amagu Ikwo and was suspected to be a supporter of the PDP, the eyewitness said Alobu was the village chairman and a suspected LP supporter.
The PDP and LP supporters clash in Ebonyi comes few weeks after both party clashed in Ekori, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State which led to the death of three people.
