Defection saga: Suswam, Abba Moro fight dirty

There’s an ongoing cold war between outgoing governor of Benue State, governor Gabriel Suswan and the current Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro over the composition of the Local Government Caretaker members in the state.

In fact, the messy war, IPN report has literarily torn the two politicians apart and this was fuelled by the wind of change currently sweeping across the state.

According to dependable insiders, the executive fight has snowballed into serious war as members of the party could not hel but watch the actor and boss battle between Suswam and Moro.
The disaffection against the composition of the caretaker is more prevalent in Okpokwu council area as the Hon. Minister of Interior, Abba Moro has expressed his deep dissatisfaction to the governor about the emergence of a protege of the state PDP chairman Dr. Emmanuel Agbo as the caretaker Chairman.

Com. Moro and Dr Agbo who hail from the same council are sworn political enemies who have been in political trenches to annihilate each other’s political ascendancy. Moros’ group who bemoaned this disgraceful treatment of their leader boycotted the inauguration ceremony at the government house as well as the reception at the Makurdi residence of Dr Agbo.
They claimed that Moro has invested fortunes in the party’s campaigns in the state and cannot be rewarded with a lowly interim position. They also resolved to work against the party in Okpokwu in the coming governorship election.

The case of Otukpo caretaker committee was a huge embarrassment as an in law of senator Mark was returned for a record third time as chairman of the council. Some others were replaced at the venue of the inauguration by governor Suswam.

The outcry against this caretaker strategy is the same all over the state and it may likely be the last straw that broke the PDP chances in the state.
It has immense capacity not only to permanently dismember the party but will immediately affect its fortunes at the governorship polls.
