Ortoms wins in Benue, Suswam calls to congratulate APC candidate 

 

 Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has bowed to the voice of the people after he put a call across to the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Samuel Ortom ahead of the official announcement by INEC to congratulate him for winning the state's guber election.
The governor who had wanted Terhemen Tarzoor of the PDP to take over from him took the bold step after results announced from across the state showed that the APC candidate was leading.
He attributed Ortom's victory to the work of God.

“Suswam has called Ortom to congratulate him; it was at about 10.56am and they spoke peacefully.” a personal aide to Ortom told newsmen in Makurdi, the Benue State capital on Sunday.

Suswam's decision came after results from 14 LGAs of the state put Ortom ahead in 8 councils while Tarzor won just six.
Benue state has about 23 local government areas.
