The protest of Benue State University medical students which began yesterday night have escalated.
The students this morning, have block the Gboko-Makurdi Highway causing a congestion of traffic.
They’ve also burned tyres, carrying placards demanding amongst other things, the presence of the Vice Chancellor of the university and the college provost who have so far failed to show up, after paying a deaf ear to the predicaments of the students over the years.
Recall that pandemonium broke yesterday after their colleague, Idoko Nicholas Inalegwu died in an accident under controversial circumstances after receiving the news of his withdrawal from medical school after spending 10 years. The students believe that he took his own life.
