Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Nasarawa state governor, is sure that since Nigeria gained independence in 1960, nothing has united people more than their resolve to elect Muhammadu Buhari as president.

Al-Makura said that the emergence of Buhari as the winner, brought unity and became indication of a common direction the people were moving in.
According to Leadership, the governor made his position known as he was speaking in Lafia on the outcome of the March 28 polls.
Al-Makura praised Nigerians for their maturity in handling of the polls results.
“By being magnanimous in defeat, President Goodluck Jonathan has proven himself a true leader with a large heart and has left a big challenge for us politicians and indeed every Nigerian.”
Additionally, Nasarawa governor urged people to continue providing maximum support to the president-elect for the sake of prosperity of the nation.
The politician, however, noted that is was important to realize that the challenges ahead are enormous and there is no one-stop solution to them.
Addressing these challenges is the shared responsibility of all, he said.
