Recently, Dr Samuel Ortom at a Campaign rally in Benue
State spoke to the youths and the entire Benue electorate passionately.
Appealing to them to come out and vote in next Saturday’s Governorship
Elections. He called on them to join him to build the ‘Benue State of
our dreams’.
Assuring them that the era of God-fatherism is over and an era of Government for the People by the people has come to stay.

My mind is solidly made up to bring to bear our vision of a God fearing, selfless, pragmatic and people oriented leadership that has eluded the good people of Benue State for many years now despite the determination of some anti-development proponents to frustrate it.
I, therefore call on all well-meaning daughters, sons, residents and friends of Benue State to put aside party differences and any other mundane consideration and join forces together with us to take the state from her present rot, backwardness and inactivity to her true pride of place.
In order to forestall these, we have decided to embark on a campaign for the people and by the people. We are proud to say that we have not borrowed any funds to carry out all our campaign activities. Through our website (www.samuelortomcampaignsupport.com), we are raising funds from ordinary citizens who believe in us and our vision of a vibrant Benue State. Thanks to your generous support, we have truncated the era of God-fatherism.
Every promise that we have made to the people of Benue state, we can and will fulfill. Come April 11th 2015, the power landscape will shift and our people will finally begin to enjoy the benefits of compassionate and good governance. Thank you once again.

DR ORTOM’S POLICY THRUST
The major policy thrust of the Dr. Ortom led government in Benue State by the grace of God would be:
- To Pay special attention to areas where the State has comparative advantages such as agriculture and solid minerals exploration, with a view to improve productivity and accelerate development.
- To effectively and efficiently utilize all other potential and available resources for maximal growth and creation of massive employment opportunities especially for our unemployed youths.
- To attract credible investors (both local and international) to the state.
- To provide a conducive and enabling environment for both business and innovative ideas to flourish.
- To provide qualitative and affordable education and healthcare to our people and to ensure increased educational and medical tourism to the state to boost its economy.
- To provide efficient water and energy supply which is essential to the socio-economic growth of Benue State.
- To empower the private sector to cushion the effects of over dependence on government.
- To promote confidence in the state’s economy among consumers, entrepreneurs and businesses alike.
- To progressively harness the state’s resources toward infrastructure provision; a viable and sustainable development by ensuring zero tolerance to misappropriation of public funds.
- To reposition the Benue State Civil Service to a highly motivated and functional organ of government in order to be well positioned to drive the policies of government to the benefit of the masses.
- To pursue policies to efficiently preserve and add value to food crops in the state; to reduce waste and loss of income to local farmers.
- To creatively seek ways and means to internally increase revenue generation in the state substantially without casting a burden on the people.
- To transform and address security challenges with emphasis on the nomadic cattle rearers and local farmers conflicts in the state for a safe and peaceful environment.
- To engage the youths in ways as to redirect and apply their minds, talents and skills in positive and productive endeavours like sports and entertainment to be useful members of the society.
- To recognize, honour and engage Benue State indigenes, wherever found, which have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour, in the bid to promoting excellence within the state and beyond.
- To provide special welfare packages for the elderly, the physically challenged, the expectant and nursing mothers, and infants in Benue State.
- To run an all-inclusive administration in the manner of a public participatory governance.
