An Emergency meeting of all the second Class Chiefs, all Traditional titled holders, all Prominent Tiv Sons have been slated to hold in Gboko today by 12 noon.
According to a prominent title holder in Tivland, Chief Edward Ashiekaa ( SAN ) who authorized this press release, the meeting is to address vital issues that affects the common destiny of the Tiv People.
Although he did not elaborate further, the meeting maybe connected with media reports of the demise of the paramount ruler of the Tiv Nation, HRH the Tor Tiv, Orchivirigh Dr Alfred Akawe Torkula.
Chief Ashiekaa, further stated that after the meeting in Gboko today, a delegation of The Tiv Traditional Council will depart for Makurdi to brief Governor Ortom. It is after the gubernatorial briefing that the Tiv Traditional Council will announce whether The Tor Tiv, Begha-U-Tiv Orchivirigh Dr Alfred Akawe Torkura,The Tor Tiv IV has in actual fact joined his ancestors or not.
