GOODNEWS! Nigeria Records Huge Success
Ever being dealt a heavy blow that makes you feel like
giving up? Well! If yes, there is a little take home from Nigeria’s
recent success in the football scene as it is gradually converting its
AFCON 2015 setback to great comebacks.

GOODNEWS! Nigeria Records Huge Success
News reaching us indicates that, Nigeria last night (March 11), reached the semi-finals of the African Under-20 Championship.
The Flying Eagles defeated their Congo counterpart 4-1 in their second Group A game and this victory, sees the team qualifying for the Under-20 World Cup later this year.
Captain Musa Muhamed scored a brace whilst Ifeanyi Matthew and man-of-the-match Taiwo Awoniyi were also on target for the Flying Eagles.
All four African semi-finalists will earn a place at the global competition in New Zealand in May/June.
However, the good news doesn’t end here. The gradual upward movement of the Nigeria senior side (Super Eagles) on the monthly FIFA rankings continued today, March 12, as the Nigeria moved a step to the 41st spot in the March edition released by the world football governing body.
The Super Eagles however stayed rooted on the 7th spot on the African continent as the Desert Foxes of Algeria remains the highest ranked team in Africa, while Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal and Cape Verde are the other countries ranked above Nigeria.
World champions Germany are still the number one team in the world ahead of Argentina and Colombia. The first move on the global ladder concerns Italy, which climbed two positions at the expense of Spain (11th, down 1) to enter the top ten for the first time since June 2014.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s sports minister, Tammy Danagogo, has strongly recommended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to employ a lesser coach than Stephen Keshi.

Danagogo said the NFF
should find a better option for the Eagles in case they fail to agree
on the terms with Keshi, someone like Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho or Bayern
Munich’s Pep Guardiola.
