Ogun Police Bans OPC, Man O War, Others On Election Day
The Nigerian Police authorities have asked unauthorised security outfits to stay away from election duty across the country.
The security outfits banned are the Vigilance Group Services, Man O War, Boys Scout, Boys Brigade, Sheriff Guards, Oodua Peoples Congress and any other uniformed outfits that have not been permitted by the law for the purpose.
This was disclosed by Ogun state Commissioner of Police, Valentine Ntomchukwu, during a meeting of Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security in the state, at the command’s headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Trust reports that the meeting was attended by the Nigeria Police,
Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Immigration, Customs, Department
of State Security Service, the Independent National Electoral Commission
and the National Youth Service Corps.
According to Ntomchukwu, these security outfits had not been accredited by the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
It was reported that the forum also appraised the security arrangement on ground in the state towards having free, fair and credible elections.
The police boss appealed to the general public to respect the law and conduct themselves in peaceful manner before, during and after the election, adding that the security agencies in the state are ready to resist any form of violence.
